Generation Two: CHAPTER ONE: Walking in the Rain
Dominick turned to his friend Raven and laughed. The concert had been fantastic, and Raven was in a great mood, which meant he was being hilariously funny. Raven was the midst of doing a spot on imitation of the band's lead singer when the expression on his face fell.
"What's up?" asked Dominick.
"There's a girl out there, Dom. She looks cut up pretty bad."
Dominick turned his head to look out the passenger window of Raven's old Buick. Sure enough, there was a girl walking through the rain, her hair matted, her legs cut and bleeding. "Jesus!" said Dominick. "Pull over!"
Raven stopped his car at the curb, and Dominick flew out of the door. "Hey!" he yelled to the girl. "Hey, come here!"
The girl turned and ran.
"Shit," said Dominick and walked after her. "I want to help!" he yelled. "Would you stop for a minute?"
To Dominick's relief, the girl did stop, and turned toward him. He didn't know why she stopped, or why he cared. But care he did. As the girl came closer he saw that her hair was caked in dirt and blood, that her clothes were torn and dirty, and her skin was raw from the elements. And he saw that she was beautiful.
